Tenley Grace Powers

We've eagerly anticipated this day for this day for 9 long months.  I got the text at 4:45am on Tuesday morning that Kelsey was in the hospital with beginning labor.  By 8:45am, I got the text that Tenley was almost ready to be here!  Kelsey (and Jordan) did so well and fought hard to get their new baby girl here.  She is PERFECT.  I could not get over how wide she opened her eyes and how long she looked at everyone.  She is so beautiful and I can't wait to get to know her better.  Love you, Powers family!

Lacy Rae's Birth Story

I have been awaiting this day like a little kid waiting for Christmas morning!  (like, texting Erin every few hours for the last 2 weeks with "how are you feeling?" or "anything happening?" or "serrrrsly...nothing?!" Annoying, I know).   Early Sunday morning, my phone rang at 4:27AM.  Erin was pretty sure this was the real thing, and that little Lacy Rae was on her way.  We all met at the birth house at 5:15AM!  As I'm sure most of you know, Erin isn't the most emotional person in the world, but I really thought her contractions were still pretty easy and light. She was joking and laughing, with an occasional deep breath or body sway during a contraction.  Mom decided to check her to see where we were at and how long we were going to be waiting.  By the sound of her voice, we all prepared ourselves for the worst.  Two, maybe three centimeters we were sure.  Then we heard the glorious words of, "Erin, you're NINE centimeters and almost complete!"  WHAT?!  (I hated her a tiny bit at this point) And, a mere thirty minutes later, Lacy Rae came into the world.  Erin is the most graceful baby haver I've ever seen.  And, can I say how amazing it is to help bring my new niece into the world right beside my brother and mom?  It is hands down one of the most special things I've ever done.

Lacy Rae Tucker weighed in at a whopping 6 lbs. and 8 oz. and was born at 6:07AM. She's perfect in every way.  Thank you, Jesus, for another sweet addition to our family.

I love you, Erin & Russell!  Congratulations on your beautiful new baby girl!

She's Here....and I'm in Love...

Today was one of the best days of my life!  I will be forever grateful to my brother and sister-in-law for letting me be a part of this beautiful experience of bringing Anabelle into the world.  I cried pretty much THE ENTIRE time.  This day has been so long awaited and prayed for.  Watching my brother support and love on his bride while she worshiped to praise music through each contraction just took my breath away!  The birth could not have been more perfect and neither could Anabelle.  She's beautiful and I will have some precious newborn pictures of her coming very soon!  But for now....take a peek into just a glimpse of the beauty that I saw today.  (Oh...and happy birthday to my brother Russell.  He got the most perfect present in the world.)  :)
